Inspiration in Institue

So let me just say that I love my institute class. more so, my institute teacher. He is an amazing man. I had him last semester, and he's just that good!

Greg and I have been... more or less, "struggling" with some goals. We had the "umph" to actually set some goals few FHEs ago (all thanks to a co-worker of mine). We read the article Up a Creek without a Paddle by Willard White (New Era, Jul. 2010); it talked about how we need to set goals to give us directions in life. Without goals, or a "paddle", we miss out on LOTS of great experiences.

So Greg and I sat down and made several goals. Pretty good list (I still need to type it up and put it up where we can see it everyday!!)~ Well long story short, we haven't been following it 100%. I know it will take us time, much more time...
SO, back to present time, institute class.

I'm sitting in institute, and Bro. Calton, the great man that he is, is totally inspired to talk about setting goals.
I love this quote, he says, "a goal not written is only a wish". So true. That's why I need to WRITE IT DOWN!!! and tape it on the wall. :)
So with that said (I've noticed I say the word "so" alot...), we're going to do that.

I've also made a commitment that in order to learn more effectively while studying the scriptures, I need to write down promptings given by the Spirit in the scriptures or in a journal.

Another quote for thought,
"... the attitude of writing down even the simplest things that may come from the Spirit would invite the Spirit back again".

Amen.
